Stop for tasting three is also where you have lunch—our only note would be a preference for greater flexibility around lunch (maybe in the town?) and for all four tastings to be just that. The lunch break is more than enough time and the town was so cute, we would have loved to have had greeter options for food.”

“In beautiful autumn weather, John gave us an excellent day tour of the area near Auckland, mainly to the west, taking in the ranges, the coast and beaches, the magnificent Kauri tree, then two wineries (with very tasty wines). His commentary was excellent and we were entirely comfortable with his driving. A great way to finish our short NZ visit.”

“The artwork and glass art inside the building is fabulous. The gardens and the sculptures are beautiful. The driftwood sculptures of the horses and the whale are amazing. The bronze sculptures were just lovely. I loved the boy pushing the girl on the swing. The sculpture of the boy holding the dolphin is apparently an early work by Leonardo Da Vinci and is quite stunning.”

“Six people squeezed into a van that really should have only taken 5 adults. Dreadful! Van needed a new tyre and at the start of the tour it was like driving in Noddy's car! Dreadful! We were under the impression we would do some walking around the island instead dumped at three wineries and a short drive around the island! Absolute waste of money and 6 hours of my life! Take the hop on hop off bus and save yourself a bundle!!! Nice tour operator but that's the only thing I could say!”
